Showreel 2011

January 2, 2012 in News

So 2011 has gone and 2012 is upon us, I sat down last night and had a listen to a few bits that I have composed this year.

I have to say I have tons of unfinished ideas and half started projects but out of all the bits I went through these were probably my favorite so figured I would mash them together for a mix-up showreel.

Please bare in mind I haven’t put an overall master on this and most of these are straight from my system but I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them, Oh and happy New Year :)

New Beat

December 6, 2011 in News

Ok so I have had to work on some more “commercial” styles of music.
This one still isn’t finished, I have literally only done the backing but really looking forward to Drastik laying some vocals down for me in the next week or so.

I will of course post the FINISHED version once it is finished.

Trippin’ On Speed Video Released

November 5, 2011 in News

So as I posted earlier this year, Never A Hero have used one of my favourite songs, Trippin’ On Speed.

I wrote this track when I was 15 or so, and last year I was thrilled when the guys wanted to use it as another one of their singles!

The video is maybe one of the strangest I have ever seen, an admittedly not really anything to do with what I wrote the song about, but I seems to work which is good.

So here is their latest video…..Trippin’ On Speed,

From Heroes To Angels Playing On Kerrang & Scuzz TV

August 3, 2011 in News

Yet another Never A Hero song, these guys are doing really well!!

This song was one of my creations for the guys, it’s a rap based grimy feeling song describing the way the world is now turning.

There was a lot of emotion put into this song.

It starts off with a very techno based feel and as always with these guys builds up to a heavy melodic finish.

The difference to this track rather than the other work I have written and worked on for them, is this is fuelled by rapping throughout the most of the song, the only sung parts are actually the chorus’.

Needless to say it has a very unique twist on it, and I loved writing this.

You can see the video the guys have filmed for this track on Kerrang & Scuzz, and hear the track on most rock stations.

I have even seen some of the lyrics on their fans arms :)

As always I have posted a snippet of the song but if you wish to hear the full track then check out Never A Hero, or buy it direct from iTunes

Trippin’ On Speed To Be Used For World Wide Triathlon Promo

August 2, 2011 in News

I was about 15 when I first wrote “Trippin’ On Speed”.

I had just watched Casper The Friendly Ghost, there was a piece of music on there that I immediately fell in love with and I wanted to try and create a similar feel with the beginning of a new song…. Trippin’ On Speed was born.

After that the rest sortĀ of fell into place with quirky style backing following the beginning piano (sped up) and an organ taking the lead.

The lyrics were dark but with a fun feel almost making them contradict themselves.

The song was never really used until last year when a band called “Never A Hero” picked it up, since it has appeared on their first EP Socially Awkward and is now to be used for a world wide promotive video for triathlons.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished product which I will post up a soon as I get it.

For now you can hear the clip underneath… hope you enjoy :)

Milqud – Hold Me Hostage

August 1, 2011 in News

This was actually a track I wrote when I was 13. I pulled it out a few years ago for one of my old project bands Milqud.

We were fortunate enough to record the track itself with Craig Hardy (Blue, McFly, Lemar).

The song itself had a video made which is what I have posted up but it is no longer being used in any way or form.

This again was a much more ballad based song starting off with only piano and acoustic guitars, but building up to a full rock band finish with drums, electric overdriven guitars and a female harmony.

The female harmonies, even though composed by myself were sung by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for a Dorothy runner up Lauren Samuels.

The video itself isn’t really the greatest in the world, but you get an idea of the feel and of course get to hear the song.

Going Orchestral

August 1, 2011 in News

Ok, so not the heavy style I have been working with lately, this is the opening to the Never A Hero album (to be released) “Theatre Of Disaster”.

It was recorded at my studio FNRStudios.

It has a very “Danny Elfman” feel as I think this was what we were listening to at the time.

It starts of quite bland and works its way in to a large orchestral finish accompanied by electric guitar swamped in reverb to give that backing and erie feel.

Please note this is only a snippet of the song, but feel free to message me if you wish to hear the full piece.
